Edwin and Will blasted through the snow in the tiny Honda Beat, the engine whirring like a sewing machine as they zipped along icy roads. The snow fell heavily, but nothing could dampen their spirits. Christmas lights blinked from the cottages they passed, casting a colourful glow on the thick white drifts. Inside the car, the boys were laughing, cheeks flushed from the excitement of the drive and the warmth of the heater cranked up to full blast. Christmas tunes filled the car, and they sang along with reckless joy, swerving around the occasional snowbank with grins plastered on their faces. It felt like the perfect Christmas Eve—until Will glanced at the rear view mirror and his expression suddenly shifted.
"Edwin, he's still following us!" Will shouted, panic creeping into his voice. Edwin’s grin faded as he glanced into the side mirror. Sure enough, a pair of headlights glared back through the snowstorm. The faded Black Cadillac had been tailing them for the last twenty minutes, and it was getting closer. "I thought we lost him back in the village," Edwin muttered, his grip tightening on the wheel. The boys exchanged a tense look, the festive joy evaporating as reality set in. They weren’t just out for a Christmas joyride—they were being chased. Behind them lay a duffel bag full of cash, the result of a little heist they’d pulled earlier, stealing from a bank to give back to a friend in need. And now, their holiday escapade had taken a dangerous turn. "Hold on!" Edwin yelled, as he carpeted the accelerator, determined to lose the tail before Christmas morning arrived.
